Wanting to design an office to represent their work, Ron and Marilyn Hill, along with Suzanne Sonderman, worked for a year with subcontractors they frequently use for their residential design business Euro World Designs to get just the right look. “We wanted to make the office more homey,” Ron says. The Hills’ Ozark-based design firm has been in business for four years and is known for its Old World architecture.

Starting with an open floor plan, the designers added radius walls to the front reception area. In an effort to capture natural light from the front of the office, antique windows were placed in the walls between the offices. The effect is charming and adds an interesting detail to otherwise blank walls.

A Gothic doorway made of knotty alder with an iron window separates the original office space from the additional square footage that the firm added. A conference room boasts beams in a crossover pattern. Additional beam work creates a frame around a display board used for presentations to clients.

Using their own renderings of past jobs as art work, Euro World’s clients can see designs while adding to the décor of the environment. “We have a combination of antiques around the office too,” says Ron. “Some are French and some are English, but they all contribute to the character of the space.”
