2008 Interior Designs of the Year

417 Home's annual celebration of the best of the best in 417-land's interior design universe.

2008 Interior Designs of the Year

The Interior Design of the Year Awards is a free, juried competition open to all design projects and designers based in 417-land. This year, there were a total of 70 entries, with 32 of them in the residential category. They’re all filled with the hottest looks of the year and paired with fresh and innovative concepts, making it hard to narrow them down to the absolute best.

That’s where our judges come in. Our panels of Interior Design of the Year judges are carefully selected and often include a professional, an instructor and a student. This mixture was chosen to include a variety of ages, tastes and expertise. This year’s residential judges were Marciann Patton, instructor in the Missouri State University interior design department, architect Dale Peer of Dale Peer Home Design and Rebecca Stevens, a senior interior design student at Missouri State University. Commercial winners were chosen as the best of the best by a couple of experts, Teresa Schwab of Wilhoit Properties and Tracy Sooter of Drury University’s architecture department. These two judges spent hours studying every detail in every entry to assure that those who deserved it most would win the Interior Design of the Year award. Read on to get a glimpse of the hottest office designs in 417-land’s commercial world.

These individuals spent many hours visiting and studying the entries to determine the winners. The scores have been tallied, and one thing’s for sure—these spaces are the cream of the design crop.
