Matt and Kelly Beard built their Hollister home to balance their loves of hunting and entertaining, complete with a trophy room, gun vault and theater room.

Matt and Kelly Beard can’t imagine living anywhere other than Hollister. Both were born and raised there and are now surrounded by friends and family who share the same undying devotion to the town. So for the Beards, it was worth it to endure 14 months of planning, constructing and decorating their Hollister home.
The two own Beard Excavating, which meant they did all the excavating work themselves. For the rest, they relied on Rogersville-based builder Doug Pitts of Doug Pitts Construction and Ron Hill of Euro World Design. Along with Matt’s love of hunting and Kelly’s affinity for antiques, the two designed a rustic-chic French country home. The house was designed with a focus on gathering friends and family for nights spent watching UFC fights or calling bluffs around the cards table.
