Matt Miller and Stacy Jurado-Miller found a way to mix modern and feminine design in to a harmonious home.

Downtown real-estate developer Matt Miller is known for turning the neglected into the fabulous. But when faced with a similar challenge in his own family home, his wife, Stacy Jurado-Miller, had to lead the way.

“Part of Matt’s profession is having a vision,” Stacy says. “He goes into old buildings and can see what they can become. This is my one shining example of having vision.”

The couple, who had started their relationship in a small bungalow in the Rountree neighborhood, knew their dream of finding a one-story home in the same neighborhood would be tricky. The idea of living on one level with their growing family, including Matt’s son Collin, 7, and the couple’s baby, Nora, who is six months old, seemed appealing. “A ranch-style home is so livable,” Matt explains. “But there aren’t a lot of ranches in this neighborhood.”

When the couple found their current house for sale, they were excited about its potential. “I walked in and said ‘no way,’ in part because I knew how much work it was going to be,” Matt says. But Stacy was convinced it could be just want the couple was looking for.
